Mission Trip 12/31/09 – 1/12/10

December 31 – 9:30am FUMC Jeff City for 4 team members; 9:45am exit 415 for other 3 team members. 10:45am arrive Knoxville airport. 12:30pm leave Knox for Detroit. Arrive Detroit @ 2:12pm and depart Detroit @ 3:25pm
January 1 – Arrive Nagoya Japan @ 7:05pm Depart Nagoya @ 9:00pm
January 2 – Arrive Manila @ 12:25am depart Manila @ 4:30am Arrive Cebu @ 5:45am

January 2 Agenda

Arrive Cebu airport at 5:45am Driver/Arnell will pick up the team of 7
Team will go to apartment
9am Team will go to orphanage members will interact with orphanage staff and eat breakfast w/staff
Team will depart after breakfast to tour city; go to Tops; go to Santo Nino
1pm Lunch in Cebu city at Jovil’s Grill park mall (lunch will cost $5 per person on average)
Tour dumpsite/squatter area and other poverty areas
BBQ Dinner near orphanage
Prayer/devotion/process day

January 3 Agenda

Breakfast at orphanage
Go to local church near orphanage
Lunch with pastors of church - go out to lunch
Team will go to Gaisano/SM buy gifts/supplies/needs of orphanage
Dinner with orphans and family members (present supplies)
Prayer/devotion/process day – discuss which 2-3 kids team members will “adopt”

January 4 Agenda

5:45 AM pick up Gail from the airport
8:00 AM Team will have breakfast at orphanage
9:00 AM Team will visit other orphanages (at least 2) to gather information
1:00pm lunch in Danao area
Afternoon we will process kids; profile them and assess needs
Crafts/VBS
Late afternoon build relationships and have a dinner with kids
Prayer/devotion/process day with team

January 5 Agenda

Breakfast at orphanage w/ an organizational meeting
Arnell will supply agenda for organizational meeting
Team will plan the following days
Lunch near orphanage
Visit with orphans families and go to their homes.
Crafts/VBS
Prayer/devotion/process day with team

January 6 Agenda

Breakfast at orphanage
Continue to meet with families of the orphans
water TX will be done
Team back together to visit with orphans family members

Continue to meet with families of orphans (work at orphanage with needs)

January 7 Agenda

Breakfast at orphanage
Team will visit with school near dumpsite

2:00 team will depart from apartments to go to ferry.
3:00pm Team will depart to Camotes by ferry

Team will have breakfast
Team will go to land where orphanage will be built
Team will meet with mayor/community leaders to discuss resources and partnership for orphanage
Lunch
5pm depart by ferry and back to apartments
Team will prepare for day at landfield (feeding, Bible distribution, prayer station, medical station)

January 9 Agenda

Breakfast at orphanage
10am start with prepartations/bringing over supplies/cooking/set up etc.
12pm – 5/6pm feed/give Bibles/pray with dump-site individuals/meet medical needs etc.
6pm..clean up and rest

January 10 Agenda

Breakfast @ orphanage
Go back to same church
team will work at orphanage; paint, fix rooms, team will plan last day and assess who we need to say farewell to; give monetary support to; identify needs; shop and supply all that we want to get.

January 11 agenda

Everything will be planned and prepared on 1/10/10 on how this day is planned

January 12 agenda

arrive at airport at 4:30am depart Manila @ 6:20am arrive at Nagoya, Japan @ 10:55am depart Nagoya, Japan @ 12:50pm ARRIVE at Detroit at 10:40am (no this is not a typo this is the same day at an earlier time that we departed) Depart Detroit at 2:30pm and Arrive in Knoxville at 4:07pm have family members pick you up.

I wanted to create this blog so that family and friends could follow our travels to Cebu, Philippines. We will be leaving on December 31st and will return on January 12th. While there our team will be moving some children into the orphanage. Please pray for us and the children as this will be a hard adjustment for them and they will need all of our love and support. Please pray for our team as we will be leaving our families to serve our awesome GOD! I believe GOD has chosen all of us for a speicific purpose and we will serve him well. Please pray for our families. Pray for safe travel.
